I’ve been involved with the web in some way or another for close to 10 years. Most my experience has been on the sales side offering software-as-a-service(Saas) solutions to help organizations fill a need and make their sites better. I’ve also dabbled in creating a few websites and businesses. With my current role at Siteimprove, I am speaking with organizations every day about their website challenges and how the services that my company offers can help them.
I met with over 1,000 organizations in my time at Siteimprove and I have pretty much seen it all and heard every excuse why a website might have issues. I wanted to start writing about my experience and figured a blog would be a great way to document this and a way for me to further my knowledge in the areas which can help my clients.
What I hope to do is provide some valuable insight to you which you can take back to your team, boss, website and start making an impact. Some ideas can be a small quick win that you can do in a few minutes, others might be more involved. Topics will range from basic quality assurance checks, web analytics to web accessibility. I’ll probably focus a little more on accessibility as it is a subject that I believe is important and something which has been ignored for far too long.
